Top Cornwall Wedding Venues
Cornwall is blessed with an amazing variety of Wedding venues, ranging from rustic barns and farm venues to stunning beaches venues with dramatic coastlines. I’ve photographed at many of the best wedding venues in Cornwall, but there are always new ones appearing every year.
Here is a selection of venues you should definitely check out
BARN WEDDING VENUES
Trevenna Barns
Situated amidst the beautiful scenery on the moors of Cornwall, Trevenna is one of Cornwall’s most popular wedding venues, so don’t leave it too late, they book up around 2 years in advance and hold around 100 – 120 weddings a year. With a secluded location, lots of choices for ceremony spaces, fantastic in house food, and plenty of accommodation to host all your guests, it isn’t hard to see why it’s so popular.
The Green
I have photographed many weddings at The Green. Nestled in amongst a woodland, The Green has a huge amount of variety with three different converted barns, loads of outdoor space, plenty of lovely accomodation and an amazing wedding team. It’s has a lovely lake down through the woodland and an Arbour for intimate weddings.
Cornish Tipi
A lovely woodland venue just down the road from me. Cornish Tipis is a glamping tipi site set in a beautiful private woodland, complete with a picture-perfect lake, and a permanent wedding marquee setup with tons of space. Take a boat trip on the lake part of the wedding package for some stunning pictures on the water
Kilminorth Cottages
Just outside Looe set in the countryside is Kilminorth. It has some charming, luxurious holiday cottages which make for great accommodation, a fantastic outdoor ceremony space, and it also has a really lovely meadow which is perfect for a tipi or marquee. A trip down to Looe beach is just 5 mins drive away.
Chypraze Farm
A lovely barn conversion right on the rugged west coast of Cornwall with tons of character. A smaller more intimate venue.
If you are up for it the challenging walk down to Portheras Cove, it is totally worth it, but wonderful views down the coast can be had after a short walk.
The venue is still being developed so it’s not quite the finished article yet.
BEACH WEDDING VENUES
The Blue Bar Porthtowan
This venue is favourite of mine, very laid back and with the beach on your doorstep. Stunning cliff views and at low tide there is a couple of miles of glorious beach. The food and staff are amazing and the sunsets can be gorgeous
Lusty Glaze
A lovely beach wedding venue in Newquay. Lusty Glaze has a privately owned beach for your exclusive use. If you are looking for a totally relaxed wedding where you can spend the day barefoot on golden sands, Lusty Glaze is for you. I’ve photographed many weddings at Lusty Glaze and if you can manage all the steps down to the beach then it is well worth considering.
MANOR HOUSE & COUNTRY ESTATE WEDDING VENUES
Tregenna Castle
Set above St Ives with commanding views of the harbour is Tregenna Castle, the outdoor gazebo is a stunning venue and the food is excellent. The team at Tregenna are very experienced and do a fantastic job. I have photographed more weddings at Tregenna Castle than any other venue in Cornwall.
Pentillie Castle
Pentillie is a beautiful estate set next to the banks of the river Tamar, it has a number of wedding venues with The Bathing Hut which is a quaint boathouse down by the river suitable for small weddings.
The gardens are very special at any time of the year with a lovely Lime tree walk
Tredudwell Manor
Tredudwell is a beautiful country estate on the Polurian penisular. The outdoor venue is stunning and it has a brand new purpose built barn reception venue. The Manor house itself has bags of character and some lovely bridal portrait paintings on the staircase
Scorrier House
Another stunning country house and estate. It has a very grand entrance hall with double sweeping staircase and the extensive, stunning gardens, well worth exploring.
Knightor Winery
Knightor has a vineyard on it’s grounds and the wine is produced on site. There is a lot of character to the barn where you get married and there is also an outdoor gazebo by a lake
HOTEL WEDDING VENUES
The Headland Hotel Newquay
I have photographed many weddings at this beautiful victorian hotel on the headland overlooking Fistral Beach. Stunning pictures of Fistral beach one way and the coastline towards Watergate Bay the other can be had from the coastpath just in front of the hotel.
The Carlyon Bay Hotel
The Carlyon Bay is classy wedding venue on the south coast near Charlestown with a beautiful outdoor wedding gazebo. The food and staff are amazing. Receptions are held at The Golf club and a trip on a golf buggy for some coastal views is a must.
SPECIAL WEDDING VENUES IN CORNWALL
St Nectans Glen
St Nectans is a magical place to get married, set in woodland, it has a 60ft waterfall and you can have a handfastening ceremony in the stream, above the waterfall is a gazebo licensed for weddings. One of the most extraordinary places to get married.
Eden Project
Don’t want to worry about the weather. You can get married surrounded my beautiful fauna, with a Mediterranean climate inside a biome, which is itself in a giant quarry. The ceremony spot is amazing, the dining incredible, and once it goes dark you see the biome lit up for some incredible pictures.
Polhawn Fort
A clifftop fort dating back to Napoleon times that is now an exclusive use wedding venue with an easy walk down to a private beach. The outdoor gazebo has stunning views across Whitsand Bay. The walls are very thick and the windows small so a challenging venue in the winter but ideal for a Christmas wedding.
